Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse II - Immunization Specialist will administer immunizations to children 0-18 years of age and track immunization compliance for Craven County children. This role requires strong communication skills to counsel parents/guardians on benefits and side effects of immunizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer age-appropriate immunizations according to local and state guidelines.
  • Counsel parents/guardians on benefits and side effects of immunizations.
  • Assist with delinquent follow-up and document care provided according to local protocol.
  • Compile immunization reports and order vaccines as needed.
  • Assist in the Child Health Primary Care Clinic, including reviewing records prior to healthcare provider exams and assisting with procedures.
  • Perform immunization tracking in private physicians' offices and work in health fairs and schools administering immunizations when needed.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a state-accredited program of practical nurse education and one year of practical nurse experience.
  • Licensed to practice as a practical nurse in North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.
