Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Literacy Coach to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting teachers in developing and implementing effective literacy instruction, analyzing data to inform instructional practices, and collaborating with colleagues to drive student achievement.
Key ResponsibilitiesData Analysis- Assist teachers in collecting and analyzing data to inform instruction and drive student growth.
- Train teachers in data analysis and using data to differentiate instruction.
- Review student achievement and assist with placing students in appropriate literacy and writing support services.
- Work with teachers to implement the Read to Succeed program.
- Collaborate with teachers to identify students' literacy needs, set learning goals, and develop best practices for continuous academic growth in literacy.
- Design and lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to enhance knowledge and practices in literacy.
- Coach and mentor colleagues to improve instructional strategies and student outcomes.
- Collaborate with administration, coaches, and teachers to design and implement a cross-curricular approach to literacy instruction.
- Work with administration to develop literacy goals for the strategic plan and other guide documentation.
- Assist with planning and implementing family literacy nights to share strategies and engage parents in their children's literacy instruction.
- Coordinate annual PLC expectations with administration and teachers.
- Work with the Assistant Principal to ensure training, teacher certifications, and endorsements align with local, regional, and national expectations.
- Become knowledgeable about Montessori methodology, terminology, and practices.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and supportive relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.
- Attend district-planned training and related professional development to enhance knowledge of best practices in literacy instruction, intervention, and instructional literacy strategies.
