Job Summary

As a Maintenance Technician at U.S. Farathane, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our production equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to provide maintenance support to the cell/area, focusing on achieving high levels of productivity, quality, and safety to meet internal and external customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain production equipment in optimal operating condition through regular inspections and repairs.
  • Perform and track preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production processes.
  • Assist the cell/area in troubleshooting and repairing equipment, working closely with the Supervisor to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Train associates in the proper use of equipment, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of replacement parts for cell/area equipment, minimizing delays and optimizing production.
  • Change oil on equipment as recommended by the manufacturer, adhering to all prescribed maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in team problem-solving activities, such as 8D's and communication meetings, to drive process improvements.
  • Adhere to all internal and OSHA required safety procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including the Quality Manual and Associate Handbook.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and programmable controller problems is essential. Additionally, experience in operating various machining equipment is highly desirable.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees.

Physical Demands
The physical demands of this role include standing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, walking, kneeling, climbing, laying down, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
The work environment is characterized by regular exposure to moving mechanical parts. The employee must not wear loose-fitting clothing that may get in the way of the machinery. The noise level is usually moderate, and the employee may be required to work above ground level or in small work areas.
