PCBA Process Engineer Job Description

At Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD), we're committed to innovation and excellence in our products and services. As a PCBA Process Engineer, you'll play a critical role in our Printed Circuit Board Assembly line, working with complex Aerospace and Defense electronics.

This role offers a unique blend of technical expertise and manufacturing operations, allowing you to contribute to the design phases of electronic circuit boards and drive continuous improvement in our PCBA manufacturing processes.

We're seeking a skilled and motivated individual who can work effectively in a team environment, with a strong focus on technical details and a passion for driving improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program and utilize conformal coating equipment to ensure high-quality PCBs
  • Develop and maintain product structures and routers in IFS Applications, our ERP system
  • Create and maintain manufacturing process documentation, including standard work and process validation plans
  • Train operators on new processes and equipment, ensuring seamless integration into our manufacturing operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability of PCBA designs and drive continuous improvement
  • Interface with various personnel, including technicians, quality engineers, inspectors, planners, program managers, project engineers, and design engineers
Requirements:
  • AS/BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in electronics operations
  • 5-10 years of experience in PCB Assembly, IPC, and J-STD Specification Knowledge
  • Exposure to SMT Equipment Setup, Operation, and Maintenance
  • Experience with configuration management practices and process validation
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing systems, or Continuous Improvement
  • Experience with visual daily management and data collection systems
  • Experience working in a development atmosphere, including exposure to stage gate processes
