- Design and Development: Improve and iterate new various optical systems or modules from R&D prototypes, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards.
- Standardization and Engineering: Standardize optical module designs by engineering them using industrial software, including Autodesk inventor, Zemax, and COMSOL, to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Test Station Setup and Maintenance: Set up and maintain test stations to validate standard optical modules, ensuring they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
- Feedback and Improvement: Collect feedback on optical modules from end users, analyzing and implementing improvements to enhance their performance and usability.
- Critical Component Development: Develop and de-risk critical optical components to enable next-generation QPU, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards.
- Mentorship and Training: Mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and expertise.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Ph.D. in experimental physics or equivalent industry experience.
- Skills and Expertise: Strong hands-on laboratory skills, strong publication record or record of innovation and accomplishment, including patents or product development cycles, experience leading the design of scientific instruments and apparatus, and deep domain expertise in the areas of optics, modulators, lasers, electronics, and ultra-high vacuum.
