Overview:
The Project Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Project Managers by overseeing specific project elements. This position is accountable for executing all assigned project responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning:

Collaborates with the Preconstruction and Project Support teams to proactively plan projects and optimize profit margins. Participates in project initiation meetings and collaborates with estimating and support teams. Reviews project documentation and prepares Requests for Information (RFIs) as necessary. Aids the Project Manager in developing project schedules and evaluates vendor/subcontractor quotes for precision. Assists in the preparation of submittals and the implementation of safety protocols. Works on designated projects in compliance with company policies and maintains effective communication with relevant personnel.


Project Development:

Organizes and maintains project documentation, including purchase orders, memos, quotes, shop drawings, and test reports. Creates a 3-Week Lookahead schedule as required and reviews shop drawings for accuracy.


Project Close-Out:

Assists in finalizing project close-out procedures, which include addressing punch list items, completing record documents, and conducting final inspections. Participates in close-out meetings and aids the Project Manager in compiling necessary documentation.


Project Start-Up:

Supports project initiation processes by analyzing contracts and contributing to team formation. Monitors the Action Item List within the project management software and assists in preparing documentation for project review meetings. Regularly prepares job cost projections as directed.

  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Completion of an Inside Wireman Apprenticeship or equivalent with 2 years of supervisory experience; OR
- An Associate degree in Business Management, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering.
Commitment to participating in Project Management training sessions and receiving mentorship from an assigned Project Manager is essential.

Skills and Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective reasoning and judgment capabilities.

Proficient in or willing to learn software such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Suite, and other necessary systems. Ability to interpret contract documents, plans, and specifications accurately. Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and seizing project opportunities. Maintains a solid understanding of trade terms, materials, methods, codes, and bidding practices. Knowledge of the National Electric Code and electrical engineering fundamentals is preferred.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to use hands and fingers for handling objects and tools; reach with hands and arms; and possess manual dexterity for data entry. Ability to communicate effectively and perform tasks that require sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crouching, or kneeling. Must be able to safely operate a vehicle for job site travel and lift/move up to 40 pounds as needed. Adequate vision and depth perception are required for safe operation in a construction environment.
