Position Overview: As the Vice President of Operations, you will be responsible for managing the daily administrative and operational activities of the organization.

You will report directly to the President and regularly collaborate with the Vice-President, Director of Operations, General Counsel, Chief Financial Officer, Human Resources Manager, and other managers to enhance overall productivity, identify key performance indicators (KPIs), boost efficiencies, establish strategic objectives, and develop best practice Short Interval Programs (SIP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to maximize profits and foster growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the executive team to formulate and execute strategic plans for the company's expansion.
  • Identify, engage, and oversee consultants for specialized projects, such as project management and the implementation of strategic planning procedures.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Analyze job performance metrics and present findings.
    • Review financial models that support operational decision-making and strategies with the President, Vice-President, and CFO.
    • Assist the President, Director of Operations, and CFO in creating annual project and operational budgets.
  • Lead initiatives and enforce policies and procedures to propel the company's operational growth.
  • Supervise the monitoring of construction project profit and loss statements to identify issues early and implement corrective measures to keep projects on track.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations to streamline processes, ensure timely service delivery, maintain project scope, and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Ensure timely project turnover meetings and closeout processes on a quarterly and yearly basis, while assessing profitability and sharing overall lessons learned.
  • Champion the enhancement and integration of prefabrication operations into the construction workflow, identifying prefab opportunities to elevate quality control, productivity, and profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in electrical contracting or a related industry is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of technology and its application to overall business operations and the construction sector.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in listening, public speaking, and effectively engaging with senior executives, employees, and clients.
  • Superior project management and planning capabilities.
  • Competence and knowledge in IT, cybersecurity, and network/system infrastructure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

The Vice President of Operations will report directly to the President, providing regular updates on company performance and key initiatives.

Educational and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of work experience in engineering or construction.

Willingness to travel to various job sites as necessary. Flexibility for evening and weekend work as required. Commitment to lead by example through adherence to all company policies and procedures.
