Position Overview
SAIC is in search of a Systems Engineer with a strong background in requirements engineering to become a vital part of the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Team. This role involves collaboration with government personnel and systems engineers in a dynamic environment.
The PNT SE&I Team is dedicated to providing comprehensive engineering, integration, technical analysis, and subject matter expertise (SME) support to the US Space Force. As a key member of this team, you will engage in various critical activities, including:
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting PNT Civil Customers, such as the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in defining, capturing, and managing technical, schedule, and cost risk data throughout the system lifecycle. This includes developing risk mitigation strategies and evaluating the impacts of risks and proposed changes.
- Ensuring seamless integration of civil capabilities and requirements across space and ground systems, hardware and software, and all organizational aspects within the Enterprise.
- Maintaining the technical baseline for civil systems, which involves identifying and documenting system specifications and interface requirement traceability for verification and testing.
- Collaborating with the Civil Signals Operational Capability (CSOC) Integrated Product Team (IPT), prime contractors, and government leads to validate consistency and accuracy of all system requirements and interfaces across the PNT Enterprise.
- Evaluating civil signals monitoring development programs and their implications (both technical and programmatic) on the PNT Programs of Record (PoR).
- Preparing acquisition-related documentation, including briefings, plans, and papers, to support decision-making for PNT Leadership.
- Working closely with prime contractors, support contractors, government personnel, and members of the U.S. Space Force.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance is necessary.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Proficiency in writing and delivering technical documents and presentations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
- Interpersonal skills that facilitate effective collaboration with diverse teams and personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) clients in an acquisition context, particularly with space systems (e.g., GPS, ground and space system acquisition, or DOT/FAA programs).
- Familiarity with requirements and interface management, risk management, and change board processes.
- Possession of an active Secret clearance is advantageous.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. This estimate reflects the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis, and there is no deadline for submission.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not mandate COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters; however, customer site vaccination requirements must be adhered to when work is performed at a customer site.
