Overview of the Role

TULK LLC, a leading boutique consulting firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of the Geopolitical Entities, Names, and Codes (GENC) Baseline Editor (GBE) on the NSG Standards Registry (NSGREG).

This project plays a crucial role in advancing national security priorities by providing a robust and efficient tool for managing geopolitical data. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the source code to support the GBE, enhancing its workflow to ensure data integrity, and adding safeguards to prevent database corruption.

Earning Potential

The estimated annual salary for this position is $140,000, based on industry standards and the level of expertise required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance the source code to support the GENC Baseline Editor (GBE) on the NSG Standards Registry (NSGREG).
  • Improve the workflow to verify the integrity of data within the GENC database and add safeguards to reduce the risk of database corruption.
  • Support the integration and sustainment of the GBE code baselines into the production instance of the NSG Standards Registry, including updating databases and WAR files.
  • Add functionality to manage published entities outside the baseline cycle to correct mistakes.
  • Enhance tools and capabilities for managing GBE content, including customer-appropriate documentation.
  • Successfully instantiate maintenance updates and functionality enhancements at a rate of 1 per quarter, with high-priority bug fixes occurring as necessary to maintain operational status.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • TOP Secret SCI (TS/SCI) Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM field, or equivalent senior-level work experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Senior-level working experience in government or industry in relevant areas, including client-server systems and MySQL database operations in a web environment.
  • Experience with cloud technologies as a hosting environment.
  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Node.js, and/or MySQL.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM field.
  • Familiarity with HIBERNATE, TOMCAT, HTML 5, CSS, and the VMware Tanzu environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 19100 series registry.
  • User experience focus.
  • GEOINT standards and processes, including DISR.
