Job Summary:

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team in the Heavy Civil Construction industry. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing and assembling concrete forming systems, according to blueprints and specifications, for forming concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with and promote all Safety policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
  • Construct, erect, install, and repair structures, scaffolding, and framework using hand and power tools.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine dimensions and type of material required.
  • Operate and maintain power equipment, such as concrete pumps, concrete placement/finishing, and rebar installation.
  • Secure and put away tools, equipment, and materials at the end of each work day.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience with assembly/disassembly of heavy form systems.
  • Knowledge of concrete pumps, concrete placement/finishing, and rebar installation.
  • Prior rigging knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with leveling tools, such as laser levels and transits.

Necessary Attributes:

  • Ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage a team.
  • Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dedicated and hard working.
