Job Title: Patient Service Representative

Overview:

The Texas Oncology Network is seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at our Austin, Texas location. As a key member of our Medical Oncology Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care and administrative support.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and verify patient insurance information, demographic data, and eligibility for services.
  • Register patients in our system, collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket amounts.
  • Confirm patient insurance verification and eligibility, obtain pre-authorization of services, and assess patient financial requirements.
  • Post line items and adjustments to patient accounts, balance receipts, and reconcile daily work batches.
  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) for consistency and submit files for payment.
  • Resolve patient questions and complaints regarding insurance billing and adjust accounts as necessary.
  • Follow up on assigned accounts and use collection techniques to keep accounts current.
  • Assist patients with researching and obtaining community resources, including housing, transportation, and financial assistance.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role will have a high school diploma or equivalent and 0-3 years of medical business office experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is preferred for Level 2, and 5+ years for Level Sr.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Environment:

This role requires frequent interaction with patients and staff, and work is typically performed in a fast-paced office environment.
