Environmental Technician Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Environmental Technician to support remedial operations, maintenance, and monitoring projects at client facilities. As an Environmental Technician, you will work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the successful completion of projects. Your primary responsibilities will include managing data, tracking operating parameters, and performing routine fieldwork such as environmental multi-media sampling, operations, maintenance, and inspection of equipment. You will also be responsible for performing routine tasks in support of project staff, including various operations and maintenance activities associated with remediation systems involving extraction of hydrocarbons and impacted vapor and groundwater.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage data and track operating parameters

Perform routine fieldwork, including environmental multi-media sampling, operations, maintenance, and inspection of equipment

Perform routine tasks in support of project staff

Participate in and successfully complete post-offer, pre-employment baseline physical in accordance with 29 CFR

Requirements:

High School Diploma (or GED) + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

US Citizenship is required

Ability to pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check

Ability to pass a client-mandated drug test

Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills to operate groundwater treatment equipment

Experience with various media sampling (soil, groundwater, and waste)

Experience with health and safety programs, and effective communication skills (verbal, field notes, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
