AECOM Environmental Technician Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Technician to join our team at AECOM in Novi, Michigan. As an Environmental Technician, you will work closely with our Site Manager to support remedial operations, maintenance, and monitoring projects at client facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage data and track operating parameters.
  • Perform routine fieldwork, including environmental multi-media sampling, operations, maintenance, and inspection of equipment.
  • Perform routine tasks in support of project staff.
  • Conduct various operations and maintenance activities associated with remediation systems, including extraction of hydrocarbons and impacted vapor and groundwater.
  • Other activities may include setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications, and maintaining proper project documentation.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma (or GED) + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to pass a client-mandated drug test.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Physically able to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain and variable outdoor conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills to operate groundwater treatment equipment.
  • Experience with various media sampling (soil, groundwater, and waste).
  • Experience with health and safety programs and effective communication skills.
  • Advanced or current 8-hr. refresher OSHA hour training.
  • Confined Space trained.
