Environmental Technician Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Environmental Technician to support remedial operations, maintenance, and monitoring projects at client facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in general construction and environmental remediation/sampling, with hands-on mechanical skills and interests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage data and track operating parameters.
  • Perform routine fieldwork, including environmental multi-media sampling, operations, maintenance, and inspection of equipment.
  • Perform routine tasks in support of project staff.
  • Conduct various operations and maintenance activities associated with remediation systems.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma (or GED) + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to pass a client-mandated drug test.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills to operate groundwater treatment equipment.
  • Experience with various media sampling (soil, groundwater, and waste).
  • Experience with health and safety programs, and effective communication skills.
