Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs laboratory analysis on specimens, contributing to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. They ensure quality, efficiency, and safety in all technical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory analyses adhering to quality assurance guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Prepare reagents and manage inventory to minimize waste and optimize laboratory operations.
- Exercise clinical judgment to assess priorities and troubleshoot test systems, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Assist in the review and revision of procedures to maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance, promoting a culture of excellence.
- Maintain clear communication with shifts and leadership regarding operational issues, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Participate in planning and implementing changes to improve processes, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Physical Requirements:
Works in a fast-paced clinical environment with biohazardous materials, requiring the ability to stand, walk, stretch, stoop, bend, and lift light to moderately heavy loads.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree required; MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required within one year of hire.
