Position Overview


We are seeking a Resident Care Specialist to join our northeast region. This role will require travel to various communities as needed.

The Resident Care Specialist is a pivotal corporate position that supports the Director of Health and Wellness (DHW) or steps in when the role is vacant. This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Resident Care Department, ensuring compliance with clinical, regulatory, and financial standards.

Additionally, the Resident Care Specialist may assist in recruiting and training DHWs and contribute to corporate projects while providing regional oversight of Resident Care Departments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to existing policies and procedures in line with corporate and regulatory guidelines.
  • Evaluate compliance with resident rights policies and address resident grievances effectively.
  • Conduct compliance surveys at communities and assist in formulating action plans to mitigate risks.
  • Participate in State and Federal surveys and compliance investigations.
  • Support the development and review of performance indicators and survey data to identify trends.
  • Provide training and orientation to community staff on compliance and performance improvement.
  • Assist in auditing care assessments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in the selection process for community DHWs.
  • Stay informed about state regulations and monitor changes.
  • Champion the company culture in all interactions.
  • Facilitate partnerships with external vendors as necessary.
  • Provide education and clinical expertise to the DHW role.
  • Maintain proficiency in relevant software and ensure timely reporting.
  • Uphold compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrate respect and compassion in all interactions.
  • Exhibit integrity and honesty in every engagement.
  • Show a genuine passion for care through interactions with residents, families, and staff.
  • May serve as an Interim Director of Health and Wellness when required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to community administrators and DHW staff to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with Multistate Compact Licensure required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance across multiple states.
  • Experience in assisted living settings is essential.
  • Five to ten years of nursing experience required.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Three to five years of nursing management experience preferred.
  • Recent experience as Director of Wellness, Clinical Director, or Nursing Director in Assisted Living is necessary.
