Job Summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Resident Care Specialist to join our team. This corporate role will provide support to our communities in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, and will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of care and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and implement current policies and procedures to ensure adherence to corporate and external regulatory guidelines.
  • Evaluate and improve compliance with resident rights policies and resolve resident grievances.
  • Conduct compliance surveys at communities and assist in coordinating action plans to minimize liability and risks.
  • Participate in State and Federal surveys and compliance investigations.
  • Support and review plan of correction progress.
  • Review and develop performance indicators and survey data to identify trends.
  • Provide in-service training and orientation to community staff on survey process, risk management, corporate compliance, and performance improvement.
  • Assist Regional Director with auditing level of care assessments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in the interview and selection process for community Directors of Health and Wellness.
  • Assist communities in maintaining knowledge of state regulations and monitoring proposed changes to regulations.
  • Champion the company culture and values.
  • Review and facilitate partnership with outside vendors as needed.
  • Assist with education and provide clinical expertise for the Director of Health and Wellness role.
  • Ensure timely information reporting and compliance with all state, federal, and government agencies.
  • Demonstrate respect, compassion, and honesty in every interaction.
  • Conduct oneself with the highest degree of integrity and passion for caring.
  • May be requested to serve as temporary Interim Director of Health and Wellness.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision, support, and guidance to community administrators and Director of Health and Wellness staff to ensure delivery of high-quality care to residents.
Qualifications
  • Multistate Compact Licensure as a Registered Nurse Required.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory compliance in all states of responsibility.
  • Current experience in assisted living required.
  • Five (5) to Ten (10) years' nursing experience.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) year nursing management experience.
  • Recent/current experience as Director of Wellness, Director of Clinical, or Director of Nursing in Assisted Living required.
