Precision Neuroscience is pioneering a transformative connection between the human brain and technology, aiming to assist millions globally affected by neurological disorders. Founded in 2021, we are at the forefront of developing and commercializing brain-computer interfaces (BCI). Joining our team means collaborating with specialists from various fields, including neurosurgery, mechanical engineering, machine learning, and microfabrication, to redefine the limits of innovation.

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to a mission of profound significance: restoring functionality to individuals facing severe neurological challenges, such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and neurodegenerative diseases like ALS. Our platform is designed to empower these individuals to regain autonomy, communicate effectively, and reintegrate into their professional lives.

We are in search of a Vice President of Software Engineering and AI to spearhead the development and implementation of our software and AI systems that handle, process, and analyze extensive high-resolution neural data. These systems leverage advanced real-time machine learning algorithms, making critical information accessible and actionable for both healthcare providers and patients.

This role presents a unique opportunity to oversee all phases of our software product lifecycle, from initial research and development to formal validation and commercial rollout. The software and AI solutions you will guide are essential for the operation of high-performance brain-computer interfaces, which are vital for restoring independence to patients with debilitating neurological impairments.

At Precision, you will be part of a dynamic and well-funded organization, collaborating with experts across diverse disciplines, all dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is achievable to help patients regain their independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all Software Engineering and Machine Learning initiatives, ensuring product safety, efficacy, and security while adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Oversee the design, recruitment, and expansion of the Software and Machine Learning teams, representing these functions at the senior leadership level.
  • Engage in agile collaboration on cross-functional projects with various leaders and teams throughout the organization.
  • Review and approve technical designs and development plans for critical software and machine learning projects.
  • Provide updates on project progress, risks, options, challenges, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor and manage team leads within Software Engineering and Machine Learning.
  • Collaborate with the broader team to publish and present our findings to external audiences.
Qualifications
  • Over 10 years of experience in a director-level role or higher within software engineering or machine learning.
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying regulated software for medical devices in the United States.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related discipline.
  • Strong programming expertise in C/C++.
  • A successful history of building and scaling high-performing software teams that deliver quality products.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, interdisciplinary engineering environments.
  • Preferred experience in developing Software and AI tools as Medical Devices/Software.
  • Strong background in collaborating with Quality and Regulatory teams is preferred.
