Position Overview:
This role is dedicated to overseeing the custodial operations within a lodging facility.

The organization aims to provide temporary housing solutions for personnel and families in need of transitional accommodations.

The primary objective of this position is to manage, through subordinate supervisors, a team of custodial and labor staff responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of lodging facilities.

Key Responsibilities: This position pertains to lodging operations with a capacity ranging from 175 to 799 rooms.

The essential function of this role is to aid in the planning, organizing, executing, and managing a comprehensive housekeeping program for medium to large lodging facilities.

Indirect supervision is provided to a workforce primarily categorized as Custodial Workers and Laborers through subordinate supervisors. Responsibilities include the formulation, implementation, coordination, and oversight of a detailed housekeeping program.

Collaboration with higher management is essential in determining long-term, mid-term, and short-term program objectives and policies.

Assistance is provided in developing and executing organizational structures and operational plans to meet program objectives, while monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of operations within established guidelines and making necessary adjustments.

Accountability extends to the quality and quantity of work performed by assigned staff, which includes:

  • Recruiting, promoting, motivating, disciplining, and separating employees.
  • Assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of subordinates, along with evaluating their performance.
  • Managing leave requests and planning, scheduling, and coordinating work operations.
  • Addressing issues related to supervised work and determining necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Communicating management policies and goals effectively to gain support from subordinates.

Additionally, the role involves establishing personnel management policies aligned with organizational guidelines for housekeeping operations.

Authority is delegated to subordinate supervisors, who are held accountable for the performance of their respective teams.

Responsibilities also include maintaining documentation for budget preparation related to housekeeping personnel expenses, cleaning supplies, and inventory management.

Standards Development:

Developing and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards is crucial. These standards cover:

  • Frequency of cleaning.
  • Methods, procedures, and safety precautions.
  • Selection and proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment.

Monitoring performance-based recognition and internal awards programs for housekeeping staff is also part of the role. As needed, the manager may assist in cleaning and restocking lodging facilities.

Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.
