Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Service Technician III to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing installed fire alarm systems, including panel repair/reprogram, device replacement/repair, and system testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex fire alarm systems, including SimplexGrinnell systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to ensure accurate installation and repair
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills, consistently communicating with district staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices, such as smart phones and laptop computers
  • Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation and help to train or mentor others on the service team
  • Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items
Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound, and communications systems
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain an Illinois PERC card
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
  • A good working knowledge of computers is necessary
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements
  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements
  • Retain any licenses that are required by National, State, and Local codes

  • Technical training preferred
  • NICET II preferred
