Clinical Nurse-General-Med-Surge-KCC4/5S-Mount Sinai Hospital

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of our healthcare system.
Responsibilities:- Patient Care: Deliver high-quality patient care by incorporating the principles of Relationship Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills to manage patient care effectively.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care, ensuring effective communication and coordination of patient care.
- Patient Experience: Enhance the patient experience by promoting a culture of compassion, respect, and empathy, and by actively listening to and addressing patient concerns.
- Quality and Safety: Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement, and contributing to quality and safety practices and required compliance measures.
- Operations: Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, coordinate with the Clinical Coordinator/Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager/Nursing Administrator to ensure supplies are appropriately utilized and inventory is sufficient for patient care, and escalate material or staffing resource deficits to charge nurse, Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager or Nursing Administrator.
- Education: Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred; Associate degree in nursing is considered only with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN Program if approved by Chief Nursing Officer or designee.
- Certifications: Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State; Basic Life Saver (BCLS) Issuing Agency: AHA; Certification: NRP (Labor and Delivery, NICU dept.); Certification: ACLS (in ED; PACU/ASU; ICUs; Telemetry Units; SDU; IR, Interventional Cardiology (CCL/EP/Echo); L&D; Endoscopy, and APN Adult Oncology; Certification: PALS (in ED; PACU; Endoscopy; IR; Pediatric ICU, and APNs Pediatric Oncology depts.).
