Position Overview

The Ramp Operations Supervisor is tasked with exemplifying proper operational methods and providing on-the-job training. Adhere to WFS security protocols while remaining vigilant of the activities of WFS personnel, security contractors, and visitors, reporting any security breaches or suspicious activities to management or through the WFS whistleblower program. Supervisors do not possess the authority to impose disciplinary actions or terminations. This role is governed by a collective bargaining agreement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a satisfactory standard of work quality and quantity from assigned personnel.
  • Demonstrate and explain operational procedures and safety protocols, including work scheduling and allocation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the methods and outcomes of operations.
  • Identify issues and communicate them to management, assisting in the effective use of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  • Assist with security escorts as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the ramp area.
  • Support the staging of pallets during aircraft offloading.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of cargo, including express shipments, baggage, freight, and company materials.
  • Facilitate the transportation of cargo between sorting areas, platforms, and aircraft.
  • Oversee the transfer of containers and cargo as required.
  • Handle the receipt, delivery, and physical management of customer and company materials.
  • Complete necessary forms and communications related to job functions.
  • Transport containers to and from aircraft as needed.
  • Assist in the loading, unloading, and racking of both filled and empty drums.
  • May be assigned routine cleaning of workspaces, ramps, and facilities, with or without powered equipment.
  • May assist in monitoring the security of the facility.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and designated days off.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English fluently.
**This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement with the Transport Workers Union (TWU), which requires union membership and payment of dues.**
