Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor of Medical Assisting to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching medical assisting courses and contributing to the development of our medical assisting program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach medical assisting courses to students, develop and implement curriculum, and assess student learning outcomes.
  • Program Development and Evaluation: Contribute to the development and evaluation of our medical assisting program, including curriculum design, program assessment, and accreditation.
  • Student Advising and Support: Provide academic advising and support to students, including guidance on course selection, career development, and academic progress.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with industry developments and best practices in medical assisting education, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and program development skills.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree with a minimum of three years of experience in direct patient care in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
  • Certification/Licensure: Current certification/licensure as a Medical Assistant, Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or other healthcare professional who provides direct patient care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Current Medical Assisting Certification in one of the following credentials: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), NCMA (NCCT), CCMA (NHA), or CMAC (AMCA).
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position with a variable schedule. The successful candidate will be required to work on one or more of our campuses or off-site locations, and may be required to teach evening and weekend programs.

This position is security sensitive, and the successful candidate will be subject to a criminal background check.
