Job Overview

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our educational team in providing specialized support for students with autism spectrum disorders.

Position Summary:

The Teacher Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering personalized care and instructional assistance to students within a nurturing and adaptive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist therapists and provide support to students with autism in various educational contexts.
  • Modify classroom activities, tasks, and materials as directed by the supervising therapist to enhance student learning objectives.
  • Maintain ongoing communication about student progress or concerns with therapists, educators, support personnel, and administration, ensuring consistent updates between home and school.
  • Support students in diverse settings, including community outings and inclusive environments, as required.
  • Implement behavioral management strategies as established by the educational team and adhere to school policies.
  • Document behavioral data accurately.
  • Assist students with daily living skills, including meals, hygiene, and grooming.
  • Engage in professional development through staff training, meetings, and case reviews.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Willingness to undergo a PPD skin test and/or provide proof of a recent Negative TB test.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires active engagement, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, and the ability to lift over 25 pounds.
