Our commitment is to deliver exceptional healthcare services to our expanding community. The facility features 184 beds and offers a diverse array of diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Unit Information:
The Med/Surg Oncology unit consists of 31 beds, 16 equipped with lifts, managing an average of 28-30 patients daily, aged 18 and older. The patient demographics include Oncology, Hospice, GI, Urology, Bariatric Surgical, Medical-Surgical, and Telemetry cases. Opportunities for obtaining Med/Surg and Chemotherapy Certifications are available.

Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of the interdependent care team led by a designated RN, you will be responsible for:
- Performing patient care duties and activities for assigned patients
- Conducting vital sign assessments, bladder scans, and blood sugar tests
- Documenting care provided and reporting patient data to the RN

Job Expectations:
Demonstrate a commitment to the guiding principles of patient care to achieve the Fairview Nursing vision. Support the Nursing Process to ensure outcome-focused patient care. Uphold comprehensive nursing theories, including Watson's theory of caring, aligning with the standards of the American Holistic Nurses' Association. Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members is essential. Reinforce patient education as directed by clinical staff and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or an equivalent program
- Six months of recent direct care experience in long-term, home care, or acute care settings
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program with completion of one clinical rotation
- Certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification

Note: Ontrack participants must obtain BLS certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
