The EB Practice Leader will be responsible for guiding our EB service team through the evolving demands of our clients, market, and industry. This individual must be able to think holistically, addressing current challenges while identifying future opportunities and obstacles. They will lead by example, prioritizing the team's best interests and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and develop EB Account Executives, Account Managers, and Associate Account Managers, including hiring, training, and daily supervision.
- Support the growth of new employee benefit clients by leading the New Business Engineer SME and collaborating with the sales team.
- Attend and contribute to Employee Benefit meetings, including AE Meetings, AM Meetings, AAM Meetings, and Department Meetings.
- Coordinate department meetings and AE Meetings, creating agendas, leading discussions, and following up on action items.
- Develop, update, and implement departmental workflows and procedures.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with EB carriers and vendors, negotiating benefits and commissions, and securing plan designs that meet client needs.
- Work with the Communications Coordinator to ensure consistent and relevant client communications.
- Attend industry meetings, trade shows, and conferences to stay informed and network.
- Lead the creation and updates of templates, forms, presentations, engagement agreements, and letters used by the EB department.
- Collaborate with the IT Coordinator to evaluate and improve technology effectiveness and efficiency.
- Participate in team projects and share knowledge to drive performance.
- Work within the company's Services Plan to retain at least 90% of revenue for assigned clients.
- Take primary ownership of assigned clients, ensuring clear, timely, and consistent communication.
- Maintain client relationships, resolving specific needs, potential service challenges, carrier shortcomings, and client claims/concerns.
- Lead client meetings, asking key questions, setting clear expectations, and demonstrating confidence to ensure clients follow our advice.
- Communicate relevant insurance concepts, explanations of coverage, and applicable claim examples.
- Document all exchanges within the Applied system.
- Embrace the company's process for new account hand-off, focusing on retaining and growing existing accounts and supporting new business development.
