About the Role

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is seeking a highly experienced Digital Content Operations Director to oversee the operations of its digital strategy and social media portfolio. This key position will manage the packaging of content to our audiences across a multichannel environment, supporting the Chief Digital Communications Officer to measure the effectiveness of content efforts and make recommendations to maximize audience engagement and enhance the organization's enterprise-wide content strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Management: Manage a team of digital communications staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of digital content initiatives.
  2. Content Optimization: Optimize ASHA's content communication across various digital channels, including social media, to enhance member engagement and drive business results.
  3. Digital Strategy Evolution: Support the evolution of a digital strategy throughout the association, focusing on workflow, AI adoption, key performance measurements, and brand adherence.
  4. Content Measurement and Analysis: Use data and key performance indicators to measure the value of ASHA's content for members and make content strategy recommendations.
  5. Enterprise Content Calendar: Contribute to an enterprise-wide content calendar, reducing organizational silos and promoting interdepartmental collaboration on content and channels.
  6. Content Education and Support: Educate and support ASHA staff in content planning, retention, and retirement of existing content.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5-8 years of experience in digital communications, focusing on content development and management.
  • Experience in an association or not-for-profit environment.
  • A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a similar major.
Technical Skills and Knowledge

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience contributing to the development and/or evolution of a content strategy across a multichannel environment.
  • Experience using Workfront or similar communications project management software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Google Analytics (and knowledge of GA4) for compiling and analyzing content performance insights.
  • Experience with content management systems (such as Optimizely or other similar CMS).
  • Experience with production platforms such as Brandwatch, Sprout, or similar social media platforms.
  • Experience with emerging AI environments and platforms.
  • Experience with Windows operating system, Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated track record of staying up to date on industry trends and emerging digital strategies and products.
Non-Technical Skills and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Collaborative experience and knowledge gained by working in cross-divisional teams in the development of processes and execution of standards that will govern content across an organization.
  • Experience with strategy and process development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and anticipate next steps.
  • Experience managing within a decentralized or hybrid product model.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and persuasive skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and flexible.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced communications environment.
