Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Arthur G. Russell Company, Inc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical systems for our customers.

Your primary focus will be on generating finished machine designs from general concepts, utilizing good judgment and investigation to create robust and effective equipment with minimal instruction.

You will work closely with our design team members and other subject matter experts to develop solutions to design problems, perform engineering calculations, and document your work in a reviewable format.

Additionally, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings of designs, selecting application-appropriate materials and coatings, and collaborating with the fabrication and assembly teams to ensure successful equipment fabrication and assembly.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from parts feeding systems to complex automated assembly machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex mechanical systems for our customers
  • Generate finished machine designs from general concepts
  • Collaborate with design team members and other subject matter experts
  • Perform engineering calculations and document work in a reviewable format
  • Create detailed drawings of designs
  • Select application-appropriate materials and coatings
  • Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in an applicable field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, etc.)
  • 7-10 years of engineering experience, preferably focused on machine design or a related field
  • Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project)
  • 3D CAD skills, SolidWorks

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
