Job Summary:

We are seeking an Electrical Systems Designer to join our team at REV Group. The successful candidate will assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical equipment, components, or systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mathematical and engineering principles and methods used to design electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be guided by and provide support to senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with designing, developing, executing, and evaluating fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans for complex electrical products and/or components.
  • Use CAD or CAE software to develop structural designs, model new designs, and produce detailed engineering drawings.
  • Verify designs through calculations and analytical techniques.
  • Understand manufacturing processes, with a focus on motorized RV products.
  • Fulfill customer requirements, considering design rules and interface points.
  • Define test requirements and interpret test results to validate designs.
  • Identify problems, root causes, and define resolutions, including documentation.
  • Understand and apply lean principles to manufacturing and business processes.
  • Execute engineering changes through established processes and documentation.
  • Commit to excellence and high standards.
  • Provide support for the service department as needed.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain testing and certification documents.

Requirements:
  • Skills in computer simulation, cost estimation, design optimization, design review, engineering analysis, and design.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry and vocational standards.
  • CAD and CAE software experience.
  • Problem-solving techniques, such as 5-whys and root cause analysis.
  • Statistical techniques and data analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic, motivation, organization, and self-discipline.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work with changing priorities.
  • Self-motivation and ability to stay on task.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute concurrent assignments.

  • Solid PC skills with Microsoft Office products.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education/experience required.
  • Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.

Work Environment/Conditions:
  • General office environment with work on the plant floor as required.
