Position Summary
The Retail Store Operations Coordinator is accountable for overseeing the daily functions of the Bassett Home Furnishings retail outlet, ensuring that the store meets its financial goals, enhances customer satisfaction, and efficiently manages daily responsibilities. This role is pivotal in maintaining the Bassett standard across various domains, including customer engagement, administrative tasks, operational workflows, and system management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous retail experience is advantageous, though not mandatory;
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and address problems effectively;
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities;
  • Dedication to upholding Bassett's Vision and Values consistently;
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record;
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude;
  • Proficient communication skills with customers, colleagues, and management;
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English;
  • Familiarity with Windows-based applications, including Word and Excel;
  • Capability to navigate and utilize relevant Bassett systems;
  • Occasional lifting or pulling of items up to 25 pounds;
  • Ability to bend or reach overhead as necessary;

Key Responsibilities

  • Support design consultants with order processing, cash handling, and financing applications.
  • Assist in procuring parts for customers, such as arm caps, table legs, and hardware.
  • Oversee administrative tasks, including petty cash management and cash drawer reconciliation.
  • Help with auditing sales order entries using daily transaction reports.
  • Receive and manage purchase orders for parts or store pickups.
  • Audit and validate daily business folders, ensuring cash balancing and proper documentation is forwarded to the Retail Accounting Team.
  • Manage operational processes, including expense control, warehouse procedures, inventory accuracy, and facility maintenance.
  • Foster relationships and maintain open communication with human resources, distribution centers, visual teams, corporate customer care, and accounting.
  • Perform additional operational duties as assigned;
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
