Northstar Construction Services is a dynamic Texas-based General Contractor excelling in commercial development and construction. We are currently seeking a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to enhance our Accounting team. This role will also encompass some Project Coordination duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Duties (70%):

  • Assist in overseeing daily accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and Job Costs.
  • Support Payroll management and related tax obligations on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Review and verify customer transactions and Company Credit Card expenditures.
  • Conduct general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and financial analyses.
  • Prepare reports for sales/use tax, mileage tax, property tax, and workers' compensation.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on Inventory and Manufacturing Costs.
  • Facilitate month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist in evaluating annual costs and coverage for employee benefits and insurance.
  • Manage external audits, including General Ledger liability, workers' compensation, sales and use tax audits, and the annual insurance renewal audit.
  • Prepare and verify timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Generate financial analyses and reports as required.
  • Develop and implement new policies and procedures in alignment with GAAP and company operations.
  • Coordinate the Annual Review and Tax Returns with the Company’s external CPA.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies and internal control measures.

Project Coordination Duties (20%):

  • Provide support to field and office teams through thorough analysis of submittals, shop drawings, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate and monitor the RFI, ASI, and IDC processes.
  • Create and submit Work Orders and Purchase Orders as directed by senior staff.
  • Assist in tracking project expenditures and budget management.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, and approvals.
  • Help in preparing and submitting weekly reports for clients.
  • Review daily project reports for accuracy and clarity.
  • Support Construction Administrators and other team members with various administrative tasks as needed.
  • Follow up and coordinate effectively with team members and consultants.
  • Promote safety and assist in implementing all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution.
