Job DescriptionPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead our trade distribution channel sales efforts in the Northeast Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of assigned and future accounts, identifying operational issues, and developing new opportunities within the current customer base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of assigned and future accounts within the trade distribution channel
  • Identify and resolve operational issues with internal teams
  • Develop new opportunities within the current customer base
  • Meet and exceed annual sales budget
  • Develop annual promotional plans focusing on key product categories and new products
  • Meet and exceed gross margin goals
  • Develop a business plan to identify and acquire new account growth opportunities
  • Provide timely and effective sales presentations to prospective customers
  • Plan sales approaches to identify prospect needs and wants
  • Frequently contact current customer base to maintain a good working relationship
  • Resolve customer issues and ensure satisfaction with current service
  • Complete requests for information and new product setup implementation
  • Formulate account pricing strategies within KTLP's financial and sales goals
  • Develop and maintain a fully documented sales process for all accounts assigned to the trade channel
  • Originate sales techniques to penetrate markets and combat competitive initiatives
  • Participate in national and regional trade shows and industry conventions
  • Develop new product suggestions and applications from the trade channel
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of successful experience in sales management, specifically working with manufacturer sales representatives
  • 2-3 years of successful industrial, electrical, MRO sales experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products; SAP or other comparable ERP proficiency a plus
  • Basic knowledge of business finance
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Ability to assess sales and business results
  • Proficiency in marketing, promotion, and sales processes
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams
