UPMC - Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time position located on the St. Margaret Hospital campus in Aspinwall, PA.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate patient flow and schedules, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
- Assist patients with walking, transfers, and other mobility needs, as well as collect specimens and prepare patients for exams.
- Collect patient information, take vitals, and perform screenings as directed by providers.
- Send and receive patient medical records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs, as well as assist with procedures and document patient information.
- Answer calls and provide patient education, as well as schedule appointments and verify insurance coverage.
- Under the direction of a physician, administer injectable medication and vaccines as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology essential.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance required.
