The Instituto Health Science Career Academy is seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our school community, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive school-wide SEL curriculum, focusing on experiential learning and character development.
  • Provide direct counseling, case management, and interventions for students on your caseload, ensuring their academic and personal well-being.
  • Administer universal screenings to assess students' social-emotional development and identify areas for support.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, families, and school staff, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support students with IEPs and 504 Plans by delivering required services, participating in meetings, and tracking progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and staff to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Implement PBIS and MTSS strategies to foster positive behavior and address at-risk behaviors across the school.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program.
  • ISBE Professional Educator's License (PEL) with an endorsement in School Support Personnel for School Social Work.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with high school students and their families, particularly in underserved or challenging environments.
  • Experience with special education case notes and providing required service minutes in compliance with IEPs and other educational plans.
