Job Summary

HVAC Controls Technician

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Controls Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing HVAC control systems programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, troubleshoot, and install HVAC control systems, including mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage controls components.
  • Respond to service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools, as well as a variety of hand tools and electrical testing equipment.
  • Provide front-line technical and repair support to customers through effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Develop and implement system repair and update recommendations, and assist in proposing solutions to customers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build a high-performing team and contribute to the growth and success of Johnson Controls.

Requirements:

  • Vocational school or associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a related field, plus three years of industry experience, or two years of experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sequence, and applications.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields.
  • Able to use hand, power tools, and electrical testing equipment, such as a multimeter.
  • Solid knowledge base in using personal computers.
  • Attention to detail and good communication and listening skills.
