About the Role:

Knife River is a PEOPLE-first company that values its team members as the key to its success. As an Estimator at Knife River Prestress, you will play a critical role in the planning and execution of major construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project scopes based on client requirements and design documents.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for precast projects, ensuring all project costs and timelines are covered.
  • Maintain and grow knowledge on the use of precast concrete, building and maintaining relationships with vendors and internal staff to optimize the sales process.
  • Utilize CRM to effectively communicate efforts to sales and production teams, collaborating with outside sales and project management teams to optimize project handoffs.
  • Support development of estimating templates, scope development toolkits, and product cost libraries.
  • Update production schedules, engage in WIP and revenue forecast events, and investigate job variances to understand bid performance and improve future estimates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in quantity take-offs for concrete and/or building enclosure components is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the company.
  • Proficiency in software applications including Excel, Word, and BlueBeam/Adobe suites.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including architectural and structural drawings.

Compensation: $70,000-$110,000
