Position Overview

The La Quinta and Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Mount Laurel/Moorestown, part of Lahn Hospitality and Amusement Group, is in search of a dedicated full-time Room Quality Supervisor for its newly established dual-branded hotel.

  • The La Quinta and Hawthorn Extended Stay property features 125 rooms, an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, meeting facilities, and a limited food service including a breakfast buffet.
Role Description

We are seeking an outstanding operations leader to join our Dual Branded La Quinta and Hawthorn Extended Stay Mount Laurel/Moorestown.

As a vital member of the property leadership team, the Room Quality Supervisor will have significant influence and responsibility for the daily operations of the hotel. Reporting to the Operations Supervisors, this role will ensure the highest standards of ethical leadership to guide the property in achieving its business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with guests and staff in a friendly, attentive, and service-oriented manner.
  • Oversee the efficient functioning of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager by supporting the Engineering and Housekeeping departments.
  • Foster an environment where employees feel empowered to make decisions that enhance guest satisfaction. Follow up on empowerment successes and areas for improvement with the relevant Department Head.
  • Assist the General Manager in preparing financial reports as required by the Corporate Office, meeting all deadlines.
  • Participate in scheduled M.O.D. coverage.
  • Ensure training in service standards is conducted in each department using effective training methods.
  • Support the General Manager in recruiting, hiring, and training for Guest Services based on occupancy levels.
  • Engage in weekly meetings with Front Desk to manage oversell settings and respond accordingly.
  • Help cultivate a positive, team-oriented atmosphere that prioritizes guest experience through employee development and motivation.
  • Assist the Department Head or General Manager in maintaining compliance with Preventative Maintenance and Deep Cleaning Programs through regular inspections of rooms with the Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer.
  • Ensure that all employees are consistently attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient in their interactions with guests, management, and fellow employees.
  • Be knowledgeable of S.O.P.'s in all Operations departments.
  • Maintain professional relationships and promote open communication with managers, employees, and other departments.
  • Complete required corporate training modules and become certified to train others as necessary.
  • Be present in public areas during peak times to greet guests and offer assistance.
  • Adhere to procedures for handling the hotel safe, particularly regarding security.
  • Attend all scheduled property meetings.
  • Perform cleaning duties in rooms and public areas, including deep cleans as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a Rooms or F&B department within a hotel; or a 4-year college degree with 1 to 2 years of experience in a Rooms or F&B department; or a 2-year college degree with 2 years of experience in a Rooms or F&B department.
  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Capable of working effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Maintain composure and objectivity under stress.
  • Proficient in identifying, preventing, and resolving workplace issues.
  • Adept at assimilating complex information from various sources and adjusting as necessary.
  • Effective listening and communication skills to understand and resolve concerns raised by colleagues and guests.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work with financial data and perform basic arithmetic functions.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.

Lahn Hospitality Group is a dynamic family-owned company encompassing a range of hospitality ventures, including amusement parks, hotels, restaurants, bars, golf courses, and more.

Since 1997, The Funplex has operated amusement parks across the East Coast, including two locations in New Jersey and a smaller park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The parks feature a mix of family-friendly and thrilling rides, waterparks, bowling centers, and arcades.

In December 2021, Lahn Hospitality Group acquired The Legacy Club in Cherry Hill, NJ, a country club with a prestigious golf course and membership. The club has undergone extensive renovations, including a new restaurant and event facility. In the fall of 2023, LHAG launched its first dual-branded hotel, La Quinta and Hawthorn Suites, featuring 125 rooms and the first of its kind in the area to combine two different Wyndham brands.
