AECOM is looking for a BIM/CAD Operations Leader to spearhead strategic initiatives in Building Information Modeling across the office. This role requires a physical presence at the office and is not available for remote work. The ideal candidate will possess innovative design capabilities along with proven leadership skills, enabling them to effectively conduct team meetings and develop policies, plans, and standards.

This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage your skills on some of the most complex and impactful projects globally, within an environment dedicated to excellence in innovation, technical quality, and client service. AECOM's Arlington office primarily serves sectors such as Defense, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Justice, and Federal Civilian and Intelligence.

The BIM/CAD Operations Leader recognizes the critical role of BIM/CAD in project execution and is adept at utilizing a variety of BIM/CAD tools. This individual will act as the office advocate for BIM/CAD strategies, education, and leadership, guiding the BIM/CAD leaders across Architectural, Structural, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Electrical disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist project teams with BIM project initialization.
  • Coordinate project standards with clients.
  • Create Revit families.
  • Address and resolve BIM design challenges.
  • Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to project teams.
  • Communicate with subcontractors to receive, coordinate, and update electronic models.
  • Oversee software products, including the integration of new version releases and customization of Autodesk Suite tools.
  • Utilize basic scripting skills to facilitate the implementation of supporting software, custom toolbars, macros, and Dynamo routines for BIM.
  • Assess new BIM-related software and technologies, providing recommendations based on office requirements and workflow efficiencies.
  • Develop, enhance, and implement strategies for BIM initiatives.
  • Provide IT support regarding hardware and network issues related to BIM production.
  • Proactively solve problems as they arise.
  • Deliver BIM Fundamental and Intermediate training, along with ongoing education for staff.
  • Participate in conferences, seminars, and workshops related to BIM, sharing insights with relevant teams.
  • Identify trends and business opportunities in the BIM landscape.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Architecture and/or Engineering with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant BIM/CAD experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Professional experience with Autodesk Revit is essential.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Autodesk Certified Professional is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technology-based collaboration systems.
  • Experience with large and complex project delivery using Revit and CAD.
  • Proven coordination experience with consultants across multiple platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
