Job Title: Mechanic

Cranemasters is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our company vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, and other motorized equipment.
  2. Carry out work assignments following daily briefings with the Shop Foreman.
  3. Minimize downtime by ensuring that all necessary tools and parts are available.
  4. Complete work orders accurately and on time, recording mileage, hours, date, and work/repair description.
  5. Route emergency repair requests to the Shop Foreman to ensure priority assignments are not interrupted.
  6. Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
  7. Maintain tools and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
  8. Participate in team-based work assignments to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of five years' experience in maintenance with heavy equipment and/or track/trailers/cranes, etc.
  2. Minimum of five years' experience in at least two other technical areas, including but not limited to: hydraulics, electronics, small engines, air-conditioning, and other related mechanical areas.
  3. Education to include: High School Diploma/GED and trade school/or dealership/factory service training in diesel mechanical repair/maintenance equivalent to an associate's degree.
  4. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  5. Strong communication and organization skills.
  6. Proficient computer skills.
  7. Able to read, write, and speak English.
Physical Demands:
  1. Constant bending, twisting, stooping, walking, talking, sitting, standing, kneeling, climbing, bending, and carrying materials/parts.
  2. May work in various weather conditions.
  3. Working extended hours.
  4. Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds; loads in excess of 50 pounds should be made lighter.
  5. Employee must obtain assistance when lifting items weighing more than 75 pounds or items that present ergonomic challenges.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
  1. Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
  2. Training and experience equivalent to two years of technical/vocational school and five years of on-hands repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.
  3. Professional certifications related to maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
  4. Other certifications as necessary for assigned responsibilities.
