Job Overview

Position Summary

This role entails specialized responsibilities in delivering on-site training and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, facilitating their success in community-based employment settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide community-focused employment services for individuals; perform tasks necessary to meet established objectives in accordance with contractual obligations; adhere to a placement schedule designed to offer essential support to each individual.
  • Introduce workers to their job environment, including essential locations, workplace regulations, and timekeeping procedures.
  • Educate workers on safety protocols within the workplace.
  • Assist individuals in mastering specific job functions through targeted training at the job site.
  • Instruct workers on appropriate workplace behavior and exemplify these standards.
  • Guide workers in resolving workplace challenges.
  • Collaborate with employers, family members, guardians, authorized representatives, and agency personnel to coordinate supported employment initiatives.
  • Foster natural support systems for individuals served.
  • Participate in staff meetings, departmental discussions, and other relevant gatherings.
  • Maintain confidential records containing necessary information for individuals served.
  • Complete and submit required documentation and reports promptly.
  • Inform supervisors of any challenges or concerns.
  • Relay information to Case Managers for individuals receiving long-term support.
  • Investigate potential employment opportunities.
  • Maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Intervention.
  • Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Supervision and Guidelines

The Associate Executive Director of Programs provides supervision and assigns work based on general instructions. The supervisor conducts spot checks on completed tasks to ensure compliance with procedures and accuracy.

Work Complexity and Scope

The role involves a variety of specialized tasks. The distinct requirements of each job, along with the unique needs of each individual, contribute to the complexity of this position. The primary objective is to deliver employment support services to individuals, enhancing their opportunities for community-based employment.

Contact Points

Interactions typically occur with coworkers, agency personnel, business owners, and individuals served, primarily for information exchange, motivation, problem resolution, and service provision.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodations available. Work is generally conducted in an office setting and at various job sites, requiring the ability to lift and move items of varying weights.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of specialized training in the relevant field, along with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience sufficient to understand the fundamental principles related to the primary responsibilities of the position, typically gained through an apprenticeship or similar role for one to two years.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
