The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a critical role at PrimeTech International, Inc., responsible for analyzing malfunctions and repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining complex power equipment. Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in heavy equipment, including cranes, power shovels, scrapers, and other machinery
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as inspections and repairs, to ensure equipment is in good working condition
- Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantle, and reassemble equipment as needed
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, and replace defective engines and subassemblies
- Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency
- Weld broken parts and structural members
- Direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment
- Repair, adjust, and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling, and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines
- May be required to attend training sessions to maintain certification
- Must be available during operating hours and may be required to work extended hours during peak periods
- Subject to mandatory drug testing and background verification checks
- May be required to handle equipment/supplies weighing up to 50 pounds individually and occasionally items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance
- Able to exert moderate physical effort in the loading, unloading, and arranging of equipment/supplies as applicable to the position
- Ability to work inside and/or outside in dirty and dusty environments, and occasionally be exposed to hot, cold, damp, and drafty weather conditions while handling equipment/supplies
- Able to perform work on hard or uneven surfaces
- Two years of experience inspecting and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic components on a wide variety of heavy-duty military vehicles using computerized diagnostic equipment
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
- Skilled in planning, controlling, executing, multi-tasking, and being responsible for the successful completion of work requirements
- Ability to effectively read and write in English, comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively
- Shall possess a certificate from a Vocational Technical School for vehicle or equipment mechanic, or have graduated from any Vehicle, Equipment, or Power Generation Mechanic Advanced Individual Training (AIT)
- Valid driver's U.S. state-issued Class A CDL
- Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance applicable to the position and/or military Common Access Card (CAC) within 30 days if required
- Completion of contractual and company-mandated training applicable to the position
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
