Job Summary
As an Education Specialist - CTE at Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, you will be responsible for providing students with a comprehensive learning experience that fosters their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Your primary goal will be to enable students to develop the competencies and skills necessary to succeed in society.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the state Standards of Learning and the school division's curriculum.
  • Use current school and division data to inform your instructional decisions and create a supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate key learning goals and concepts to students in a clear and concise manner.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to promote active student learning and meet the needs of all students.
  • Provide ongoing and timely feedback to students and parents to encourage student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning and well-being.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with appropriate certification for teaching assignment from an accredited college or university.
  • Possess or be eligible for a teacher license from the Virginia Department of Education.
  • Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school-based staff, students, parents, and community.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and human relations skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This position requires a high level of tolerance for change and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. The job demands a significant amount of standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
