Job Title: Certified Value Specialist

RK&K is seeking a highly skilled Certified Value Specialist to lead our Value Engineering (VE) Studies on a firmwide scale. With a robust backlog of VE Studies, we aim to enlist a Certified Value Specialist to orchestrate these endeavors and facilitate our efforts. This role offers full remote flexibility, with anticipated travel to support select studies, project pursuits, and delivery nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead value engineering studies to identify opportunities for cost savings and performance enhancements in civil engineering projects, particularly transportation.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to analyze project requirements, specifications, and constraints.
  • Assess proposed design alterations and evaluate their potential impacts on project cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Develop comprehensive cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies to support value engineering recommendations.
  • Prepare articulate reports, presentations, and documentation to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Engage proactively with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to implement value engineering solutions.
  • Monitor project progress diligently and evaluate the efficacy of value engineering initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to value engineering and civil engineering.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Cultivate new client opportunities for VE studies and assess projects outside the VE process for value propositions.
Requirements:
  • Five (5)+ years of experience in value engineering studies and cost management.
  • Certified Value Specialist (CVS) certification from the Society of American Value Engineers (SAVE International).
  • Previous experience in developing VE Reports for diverse clients.
  • Strong analytical prowess and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in value engineering techniques, including function analysis, cost modeling, and risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools and technologies used in civil engineering and value engineering.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing value engineering initiatives and achieving cost savings on projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Background in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Experience in Transportation Value Engineering.
