The COMET contract encompasses comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at a key space center. These responsibilities support various programs, including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading operations in processing areas and facilities, ensuring effective coordination and implementation of scheduled tasks.
- Overseeing Verification & Validation integration and flight hardware processing.
- Facilitating the integration and coordination of operational and facility modification activities across multiple contractor efforts.
- Providing management support to evaluate and resolve competing priorities across various projects and programs.
- Ensuring operational oversight of area systems, reporting systems, and collaborating with management to communicate priorities effectively.
- Possibly authoring, reviewing, and editing complex technical documentation, including system configurations and reports.
- Primarily a first shift role, with potential requirements for second and third shift support as needed.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent, along with four years of relevant experience. An associate degree in a related field is preferred.
Essential Skills
- Strong communication, presentation, and customer interaction skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet browsers, and email applications.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency is required if offered a position.
- Capability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
- Use of personal protective equipment, including hearing and eye protection, is mandatory.
- Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Physical activities include sitting, walking, standing, and navigating various terrains.
- Must be able to evacuate buildings quickly in emergencies.
Work Environment
- Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors across the test complex.
- Daily travel to different areas on site may be required.
- Walking on uneven surfaces, including paved areas and gravel, is necessary.
- Climbing ladders and platforms may be part of the role.
- All tasks must adhere to safety standards established by the organization.
Attendance Expectations
- This is a full-time position.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary based on project needs.
- Punctuality and reliability are critical.
- Shift work may be required.
