Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance Specialist is tasked with implementing essential functions within the quality department to ensure product safety and excellence. This role involves preparing, reviewing, and auditing quality documentation in accordance with established quality assurance protocols. Additional duties may encompass Hold for Inspection (HFI) sampling, support for corporate and plant initiatives, and data collection related to customer feedback and compliance certifications. This position provides daily assistance to Managers, Operations Leads, and Operator Technicians, and may include training new team members on quality systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a secure work environment and inspection facilities.
  • Support the HFI process, including documentation, production tracking, and rework activities.
  • Conduct daily reviews of quality records as part of the continuous verification process.
  • Perform audits of various quality systems as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining quality documentation, including forms, instructions, and training materials, ensuring compliance with record retention policies.
  • Achieve proficiency in all quality checks and inspections.
  • Conduct inspections and verifications of incoming materials as required.
  • Collaborate with the production team to coordinate necessary quality functions.
  • Support commissioning activities related to quality functions.
  • Establish and uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Thrive in a self-directed team environment.
  • Assist with corporate projects requiring data collection and analysis.
  • Participate in training for new hires as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with organizational and facilitation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Capability to coach, train, and mentor team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Aptitude for solving complex issues beyond standard procedures.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree, Technical School Certification, or a High School diploma with two years of experience in a technical quality role within a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in container manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong background in quality assurance and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to interpret quality control charts and identify corrective actions.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
