Facilities Cleaning Supervisor

Overview:

Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Contracts, the Facilities Cleaning Supervisor will oversee the janitorial staff assigned to the designated facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with contract specifications regarding recruitment, training, time management, supervision, and performance evaluation of janitorial staff.
  • Possess knowledge of OSHA regulations and Material Safety Data Sheets (MDS).
  • Demonstrate expertise in custodial care, including cleaning of carpeted and hard floor surfaces.
  • Maintain floor care according to contract requirements, including routine buffing and annual stripping and waxing.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, effectively conveying information both verbally and in writing.
  • Manage and engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and those facing employment barriers.
  • Be available for on-call responsibilities as needed.
  • Showcase exemplary supervisory and leadership skills on-site.
  • Promote performance excellence and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Contracts.

Job Duties:

  1. Train janitorial staff on effective cleaning techniques to meet and exceed contract standards.
  2. Ensure timely completion and submission of schedules and timesheets to corporate.
  3. Conduct daily inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
  4. Supervise operations to guarantee adherence to contract specifications.
  5. Handle administrative tasks, including time management.
  6. Collaborate with the Director of Contracts and Case Management to evaluate employee performance and program effectiveness.
  7. Assist in organizing and monitoring inspections and compliance reporting.
  8. Act as a liaison with contract officers and their representatives for compliance matters.
  9. Provide a safe working environment for all staff.
  10. Ensure maintenance of outdoor areas and the plaza.
  11. Be prepared for on-call responsibilities.
  12. Complete other tasks as directed by the Senior Director of Contracts.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs, push, and pull.
  • Exposure to dust, dirt, and sharp objects.

Working Conditions:

Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments.

Interpersonal Relations:

  • Ability to effectively manage and relate to individuals with diverse disabilities and cultural backgrounds.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Contracts and Job Coaches to ensure program success.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members in a management capacity.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
  • Exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in management or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping roles.
  • Motivated to assist others, particularly individuals with disabilities.
  • Must meet federal security requirements.
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
