LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) is at the forefront of developing and producing large lithium-ion polymer batteries and modules for electric vehicles (EV) and energy storage solutions. We are seeking a skilled professional to enhance our production processes.

Role Summary:

As a Module Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to provide expert insights aimed at improving production efficiency. This includes minimizing tact-time and reducing production losses within a high-volume manufacturing setting. You will leverage advanced ERP systems to oversee inventory management, incoming materials, and stock optimization. Furthermore, you will assess current staffing and production requirements to pinpoint and execute strategies for operational enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document stabilization processes for the production line.
  • Identify and mitigate hidden production losses linked to operator actions.
  • Enhance tact-time across existing and upcoming mass production initiatives.
  • Streamline material logistics to manage inbound components and reduce stock levels.
  • Evaluate staffing configurations and uncover avenues for efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with production leadership to establish and track Module production KPIs.
  • Devise and implement cost-reduction strategies.
  • Monitor production progress in alignment with established plans.
  • Provide feedback to Production Management regarding any production-related issues.
  • Manage yield effectively to boost productivity and minimize production losses.
  • Oversee Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to enhance efficiency in material replacement, production preparation, and process development.
  • Conduct internal and customer audits.
  • Prepare company documentation related to processes and procedures, including SOPs and PFDs.
  • Ensure workplace cleanliness in accordance with 5S3R Standards, which include:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is required; an MBA or MS is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years in continuous improvement or manufacturing within a highly automated or automotive engineering context.
  • Familiarity with large production lines, PFMEAs, and process controls.
  • Experience in conducting Time Studies, Line Balancing, Lean Manufacturing, and Bottleneck Analysis.

Skills:
