About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a data scientist, you will play a critical role in unlocking the secrets held by complex data sets and driving business decisions with data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of algorithms and systems to extract insights from large datasets
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and develop data-driven solutions
  • Analyze structured and unstructured data sources to identify trends and patterns
  • Develop predictive data models and quantitative analyses to inform business decisions
  • Communicate complex data insights to stakeholders through effective storytelling and visualization
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining
  • 5+ years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis
  • 5+ years of experience with analyzing structured and unstructured data sources
  • Experience with developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses and visualization of targeted data sources
  • Experience with leading the development of solutions to complex programs
  • Experience with natural language processing, text mining, or machine learning techniques
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the development of algorithms leveraging R, Python, or SQL and NoSQL
  • Experience with Distributed data and computing tools, including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL
  • Experience with visualization packages, including Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot2
  • Experience with SDLC, including Agile and test-driven methodologies
  • Knowledge of Army Data programs and capabilities
  • Ability to pick up new technologies quickly, including new Web frameworks, open-source technologies, and mobile concepts
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen Hamilton is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220, annualized USD.
