Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular security patrols and monitor the premises to deter and address security issues.
  • In emergency situations, exercise sound judgment to determine the appropriate level of force required to ensure the safety of clients.
  • Safeguard the campus and its occupants by conducting thorough inspections of buildings, parking areas, and athletic facilities.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor while interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist with traffic management and carpool operations during peak times.
  • Escort personnel and students between locations upon request.
  • Document all observations and incidents accurately and promptly.
  • Guide campus visitors to designated entry points and address unauthorized individuals with professionalism.

Work Schedule: Shifts align with the academic calendar, typically from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Tennessee Armed Officer License.
  • Successful completion of Serva's Physical Fitness Assessment.
  • Proven firearms proficiency and training.
  • Willingness to prioritize the safety of others, even in dangerous situations.
  • Ability to pass a TBI criminal background check for employment in educational settings.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States verified through Federal E-Verify.

Preferred Candidate Attributes:

  • A minimum of four years of experience in law enforcement.
  • A minimum of four years of military service.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in school security or as a School Resource Officer (SRO).
  • Completion of an approved TN Active Shooter training course.
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform 50 push-ups, 50 sit-ups (or hold a plank for 70 seconds), and 50 bodyweight squats within 8 minutes.
  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors, requiring sustained physical activity.
  • Capacity to work in dynamic and noisy environments.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must carry firearms and necessary security equipment at all times.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation ranges from $24 to $26 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, a health savings account, a 401-K plan, paid time off, holidays, and additional perks.
