Job Summary

Wayside Recovery Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medication Aide to join our team. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients in their recovery journey by providing medication supervision, administration, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with medication supervision and administration
  • Transcribe clinician orders into the Electronic Medication Administration Record (EMAR) system
  • Review EMAR reports for errors, signatures, and initials
  • Communicate with the pharmacy to request refills and track orders
  • Supervise client self-administration of medications and document according to facility policy
  • Receive medications from the pharmacy and directly from clients upon admission
  • Communicate with nursing staff regarding client concerns related to medications
  • Assist with orientation of new staff members on medication training
  • Perform other duties as assigned by nursing staff
Requirements
  • Trained Medication Aide (TMA) certification or willingness to complete training through a Minnesota State College
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of substance use disorder and/or mental health
  • Microsoft Outlook/Office experience required
  • CPR for Healthcare Worker certification required
  • High School Diploma required; some college preferred
  • Good driving record and current driver's license required
  • No DUIs in the last three years; no more than three moving violations/accidents in the past three years
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability to demonstrate responsiveness and maintain a warm and supportive atmosphere
  • Value diversity and ability to relate well with women and children of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds
  • Age 18 or older
